Temporary Sky Movies Upgrade - Is there a minimum term?

I take a package consisting of 6 Mixes Plus Sky sports. Would like to take movies for the Christmas period but would cancel in January. Does anyone know how this works - Do sky upgrade you on the day you call them and then downgrade you on the day you request it? If the period is a fraction of a month, do they charge per day? Is there a minimum period? Could you upgrade for a weekend for example? If so, how would they calculate the cost?

      Cheers.

I'm pretty sure the minimum period is a month. Just prior to the month expiring you will have to call and cancel or they will continue billing you.

Understood - Do you know if the month starts from when you call or do they try to make it fit in with the usual billing dates? For example, my bill runs from the 28th of the month to the 27th of the month following. If I call today (8th Dec) can I cancel on 7th Jan or am I comitted for longer than that?

Ah, youve got me now but I think they would do it by your normal billing date. So in your case you would be commited until the 27th Jan, the first payment from today till the 27th Dec being a part payment. I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure thats how it would work.

they will activate movies on the day you phone and will bill from that day to normal billing period ,
it can also work in reverse giving you a credit on your account when you telephone and cancel since they will bill you upto your normal payment date and a full month in advance

Re: Temporary Sky Movies Upgrade - Is there a minimum term?

When they do retention offers the offer period starts from the day it is taken up not the normal billing period. This means that you get a rebate back for the period between the start date of the offer and your billing date as payments are taken in advance.

I think this would also apply to the situation described above but in reverse as this would be an additional charge not a rebate i.e. movies would be activated following the call and you'd commit to pay for a minimum of one month. At your next billing date you'd be charged pro-rata for the number of days you had it up to that point and if you only had it one month then you'd be charged the full monthly amount at your next billing date (as it is in advance) and then get a rebate the billing date after.

Complicated but that's how I'd guess it works.
