sky+ picture quality seems worse
Hi
As a newbie im sorry if this in in wrong place.
2weeks ago i had my sky+ upgraded to sky hd+ with load of trouble involving 2 boxes, lnb change and a refused reconditioned box as the picture quality on sd channles was appaling all equally as nasty as itv. i had had enough and went back to sky +,
However i noticed that my once perfect sky+ picture on sd is not up to scratch as it was.Itv is blocky at times and blurry and most other channels arnt as good as they were before.
How can this of happened? im very comfused and begining to wonder if im going mad.ive tweeked with my tv (sony 32d3000) but to be honest the settings i had before were perfect so really shud b no need.
the only was i can explain is its like blocky pixeled & alot of motion blur at times and the weather on gmtv looks blurred and not good.I would be grateful of info and help or if anyone has had this problem
kindest regards :-)

Re: sky+ picture quality seems worse
Are you using RGB? Composite pictures will look less defined.

Re: sky+ picture quality seems worse
I think you may now know what HD looks like on your tv and you are now not happy with SD, in other words it always looked like that. I'm not trying to say you are an idiot or anything, it's just that you now notice the problems.

Re: sky+ picture quality seems worse
You say you had a new LNB fitted, is it possible this could be faulty, or the joints to it not properly made?
I have just recently went HD and with the HDMI connection the SD picture is really great. The picture is so good it is difficult to tell the difference.

Re: sky+ picture quality seems worse
An LNB cannot effectively affect the picture quality. A poor signal from an LNB can cause pixellation, and signal loss but that would show as a poor signal quality on the signal test on the box. The LNB cannot cause blurry pics.
What does the quality say for signal tests?

^^^^^^^^^
I would say that is poor! It is strange the picture has deteriorated with the new LNB, could be coincidence I suppose. Disk knocked out of alignment?
