      the sony was a very nice box, but they weren't readily available and i think that was the only model they made.

      Is it the normal sky box with the optical out? Talking of that, have you got it connected to an amp at all?

      No amps, no surround sound, just a straightforward setup. I've been noticing that the gaps between the helicopter are getting longer, and when it does arrive it's not about for very long.

      Nope, shouldn't be anything like electric interference. I've had it like this for this long, and it's only started this weekend.

      Heh, heh, cheers Paul! If I get a new box, it'll be to upgrade, which I'm more and more inclined to do as this evening has gone on!

      Really? I've never considered what the life-span for these boxes would be. Would I be too optimistic to say that a box (with the technology of today) would last longer than 5 years, than a machine made 5 years ago (if you know what I mean)?
