No satellite signal - C4 Film4 Film4+1 More4+1
Hello,
I have an intermittent issue with the reception of Channel4 (104), Film4 (315), Film4+1 (316) and More4+1(139)
By intermittent I mean it's off with "no satellite signal received" more often than it's on.
It's worthy of mention that there is no problem with Channel4+1 (135) or More4 (138)
Setanta Sports 1&2 are flaky but not as bad as these channel 4 variants.
I have sky multiroom and this happens on both the sky+ box downstairs and the ordinary sky box upstairs which leads me to believe that it's not a fault on either box.
It's been going on for quite a few weeks but before I contact sky, I thought I would see if it rang any bells here.
Based on reading some of the other threads, chief suspect must be the LNB. It's a standard dish outside my house not shared or anything like that.
Would sky send someone out to fix that or would I have to get someone in myself to do it?
Tnx

Hi just a bit of info,
If you are missing channel 4 this is caused by outside interference i.e mobile masts, scanners, radar detectors. It would be a good idea to get sky to send someone out, you're dish may need to be re-sited away from the interference.
Hope this helps

In this case I don't think its radar, DECT or phone mast interference.
Radar detectors kick out signals between 11.4 and 12.4 GHz, the downlink frequency for channel four is 10.714GHz. DECT phones affect the L band signal from the LNB to the box and interfere with signals between 1880 and 1900MHz (from Sam Radford on another forum), the L band signal for C4 is 964MHz.
Finally phone masts are 900MHz or 1800MHz again too far away from the L band signal of 964MHz I feel.
I can't see why it only affects that one transponder. Its right down at the bottom of the range of frequencies used by satellite TV so the LNB maybe struggling.

I'm having a similar problem I have Sky plus in my lounge and channel 4 is fine. On another box upstairs (running off the same LNB) channel 4 is terribly pixellated and sound drops in and out. It's driving me crazy. I've checked all the connections reset the LNB and tried another box - nothing resolves it. It's been going on for a couple of months now.
