Sky+ Box and Some Music Channels Freezing Randomly

      Hi guys,

I have two issues which are causing me some grief at present.

I had a new Sky+ box installed this August, with my old normal box being moved to the bedroom for multiroom. (Bedroom box is unaffected by the below issues).

For the last 2-3 weeks the sky+ box has been randomly freezing and crashing.

This sometimes happens first thing in the morning when coming out of standby, and also happens randomly throughout the day.The red light on the box that comes on when switching channel stays on and the box freezes.

The only way to sort it is to power down.

I phoned Sky and they did an LNB and box reset and it was ok when that completed so they said it was resolved.

However it is still doing it.

      In addition:
The music channels 362 to 383 are giving various problems such as freezing, sticking, no picture etc.
BUT: They have only been doing so since I moved the front room around a couple of days ago. I had to extend the 2 sky signal cables, so I'm wondering if this would have caused this?

Interestingly those channels work fine on the box in the bedroom which indicates to me a possible dodgy connection? However surely if this was the case other channels would be affected???

      Signal quality shows as:

      Box details are:
      Manufacturer: Amstrad
      Model Number: A2P0524
      VersionNumber: 4F2112
      Operating System Version: 1.31B03
      EPG Software Version: 5.02.f

      Any help appreciated.

      Thanks!

Have you got a phone or other wireless devicer near the box. Phones often cause certain groups of channels to drop out if situated to close to the stb.

Nope, the router is in another room and the phone base station is on the other side of the room. In fact it used to be closer than it is now...

I had the same problem on the same channels. When my box wsa replaced the fitter realigned the dish and said if it wasnt fixed it must be the extension cables i had fitted that are not good enough. They need to be quite thick cable apparently. The dish align did sort it though.
