You'll need a second cable run from the Sky dish to the digibox for full Sky+ functionality. Ask the engineer nicely if he could oblige with the additional length of cable for moving the box downstairs. Your existing cable would either have to be extended in due course to go downstairs, or maybe the guy could just lay one new longer cable.
