SO many problems with my SKY+ installation

I was due to be installed on Friday, and I wasn't contacted (as I was told I should be) by the installation team, and they never showed up. (I called them 3 times on Friday as well, and they were no help).

I called on Sat, and the lady I spoke with told me that a new engineer had been sent out, and he had not worked as quick on his first day like. So she rearranged for Monday. Told me, on Monday morning, 9am latest, if not Sunday night, I would get a call from engineer. Never happened. I called lots on Monday,
and SEROIOUSLY, from one person on Monday, at about 14.00 I spoke and asked why I had not heard anything, they said...I quote..."The engineer will be there by 17.00 latest, he's got 10 people before you." Now, I don't work for Sky, but that seems pretty fast work.

Needless to say he never turned up. I called again Monday night, and was told that someone had cancelled the installation order, they put me through to installation and I was told it hadn't been cancelled and call back in the morning. I called back this morning, was on hold for about half an hour while they 'researched' it, and was told it had been cancelled and they would reschedule for 3rd OCTOBER!!!!! So I told them to forget it and cancel it (by which point I was speaking to the 'supervisor' who didn't seem to care if they had the sale or not) and that was that.

But we really want to have Sky, and I'm so dissapointed about it all. We could install it ourselves, but will they dispatch the box and dish for us to do that? I think I have read somewhere that they won't?

And also, I want to complain - but how is best to do this, so I get a response ( I emailed them, on Friday, and only got my automated response last night)

      Any help is really appreciated!

Re: SO many problems with my SKY+ installation

      Moved to Sky+ forum.

If you manage to speak to someone or get an adequate contact for sorting this out, please let me know. I am absolutely fuming over another issue, whereby at the moment I am about 80 out of pocket.

Everyone I have tried contacting, has been a complete waste of space.

      Good luck!

Just get an independant co to install it, usually turnaround within 5 days inc new viewing card.

Sky won't send you the kit though. If you buy the equipment from Sky, you have to let Sky install it.

Re: SO many problems with my SKY+ installation

That's seriously high workload! An normal install takes around 45min to 1.5hr,Sky+ & relocate double that.Service call around 30min to 1.5Hours depending on the work, not counting travel time between jobs, lunch ect..Sounds like what has been done is that the installers have taken on more work than they can do in case they loose jobs. That's what the subbies I worked for did.
I'd take it with a pinch of salt.

The independant can supply the box, no contact with sky needed other than to cancel prev arangements.
