      Getting sky+service...got the box

I picked up a sky+ box from the recycle center this morning, its immaculate and seems to be working fine. We have been a sky customer for nearly 9 years now and have recently gone with skys phone and broadband (after a lot of problems). I am wondering if itws worth phoneing them to see If i can in anyway get the sky+service......Im guessing I will need a new viewing card? Any other ways to get the sky+ up and running, I feel im a bit behind times without it.

      cheers.

      Re: Getting sky+service...got the box

your present viewing card will work with the sky+ box just phone sky to pair it with the box, but you will also need a quad lnb to get two cable feeds into the box to allow you to be able to record one channel while watching another or record two channels at the same time as without this you really only have a standard skybox with the ability to record but only one channel

several threads on this form have mentioned getting sky+ allong with installation for about 105 maybe more in your interest to enquire about this as you will get a full warranty

A dual LNB will be adequate for the full Sky+ functions if you are using this box only. If you only have one cable coming in we can still pair the card up and you will be able to record, pause etc. but only 1 channel at a time.

Thanks Keith. Yes I have only one cable comming in, but its no problem me sticking a dual LNB on the end and running another cable. Just need to get my card paired.
