Sky dish mounting
Hi All,
I'm having SKY+ installed in a couple of weeks but want the dish mounted in a certain position.
Basically I want the bracket for the dish mounted on the back wall of the house but judging by the surrounding dishes it needs to point down the side of the house. After doing some research I've found that a cranked pole will solve the problem but need to know what one to get.
I'm guessing that the installer will only keep std brackets on the van so will I need to buy the pole and a wall mount or will they have all the right mounts/brackets needed and only need me to supply the cranked pole?
Also what diameter should the pole be??
Thanks in advance for any help and advice you can give.
Paul

Re: Sky dish mounting
This should do the trick:-
Universal Wall Mounting Bracket - Screwfix.com, Where the Trade Buys
It's designed to take either 60cm or 80cm so should allow a standard dish to stand off the wall and look down the line of the house. (especially if you fit the short end of the pole to the wall bracket.
Are you sure that the house won't mask the signal, it isn't going to look towards the wall is it?
Also check that the eves of the roof do not overhang and mask the signal.

Re: Sky dish mounting
Thanks for the quick reply
The dish will be pointing away from the wall and down the drive so it will have a clear view and its on the extension which has a flat roof so no probs with overhang
So from looking at your link would the pole have to be horizontal or vertical for the dish to mount to it?

Re: Sky dish mounting
The pole needs to be 30mm diameter (1.5"). Check before buying. This one is 30mm:
satellite hardware poles wall mount brackets bolts cable ties
You should also order suitable "U" bolts in case the installer has none.
