No, you have to switch the phone base station OFF. Simply disconnecting the phone line does nothing towards stopping interference.
The Amstrad models have a reputation for tuner faults caused by capacitor failure. Simplest way to test is to borrow or buy a working Sky Digibox and use that to test the system.Last edited by Sam Radford; 05-08-08 at 03:44 PM.

Hi, I have tried with the base of the roma phone turned off powerwise (even disconnected from the mains) and I have still got the issue.
Looks like next check will be with a borrowed box but I doubt I will be able to get my hands on one of these easily or for quite sometime. Thanks everyone for your thoughts

Second hand Sky Digiboxes are quite cheap nowadays. I bought one through my local freebie newspaper for just £25 including card! (and that was 2 years ago).
