telephone line to sky box severed

i dont know how long the sky box has been disconnected from the phone line, just discovered the coupler/adapter severed from the end of the line. i suppose i need to call sky to run a new line from the socket to the box but before i do that, is it essential to have it connected anyway?

well,
1)if it is a multiroom box then yes it must be connected
2)if it is a sky plus or hd box and you use remote record then yes it must be connected
3)if you want to buy games or movies ect then yes it must be connected
4)if it is a normal box and you dont want to buy games or movies then no it doesnt have to be connected.

if your must have it connected again (1 -3) then you dont need to call sky, just replace the wire and say no more about it.
but if you dont need it connected (4) then dont worry take out the broken wire and forget it.
