      no signal in poor weather

Can anyone tell me why we loose signal in poor weather (rain or storms) -
sig strengths at 100%, lock OK and quality varies between 20 - 50%

Do rain clouds block signals ??
      Cheers

Heavy rain and storms block the signal from the satellite, which is in orbit above the equator (about 22000 miles up ), the signal has to get through the atmosphere before reaching your dish.
