"Failed" message on future recordings
Just been speaking to Sky about this ... my Sky+ box is showing all future recordings as "Failed" due to a power cut. And the "Anytime TV" is no longer working.
Apparently they have just had an email round at Sky regarding the Failed error - it is some problem at their end and they are working to fix it - in the meantime you might want to double check those recordings set up for tonight!

Re: "Failed" message on future recordings
So not a problem with 'wrong' software on HD boxes as mentioned elsewhere here?

Re: "Failed" message on future recordings
Hello, Happened to my dads box last night all his 50 + programs for the next few weeks stated power cut,
did house keeping and update they did not repair themsleves. having to delete them and put them back on. it only happened on his box and not mine (mine ver 2 (own HD 500gb, his is a ver 3 (std Drive).
I assume they are all gonna have to be put back in manually and theres no way of fixing this ?

Re: "Failed" message on future recordings
Exactly the same thing has happened to one of my boxes. Had to switch it off at the mains for a while to reactivate the now and next function. I then had to manually reset all the planned recordings. Was a close shave because i would have been in serious trouble if the missus had missed her Deal Or No Deal

Re: "Failed" message on future recordings
Hello SkyUsers
We’re very sorry that when some Sky+ customers went to their planner on Tues night (10th June), they found future recordings marked as “Failed”. This was due to boxes temporarily receiving the wrong timestamp for certain channels. This means that the “clock” on some channels jumped ahead by one day, which caused Sky+ to think future recordings on these channels were actually in the past, and had therefore failed.
We quickly identified the issue and resolved it.
We recommend you go to your planner and check to see if there are any outstanding “failed” messages for your future recordings. To fix this, please simply delete the original request and re-programme it.
We apologize for the inconvenience and for any recordings that were lost before we were able to identify this problem.
Sky+ Team

Re: "Failed" message on future recordings
Thanks for the explanation ... its always nice to have the "blokes in the know" actually tell us what is going on, rather than us trying to work it out for ourselves. Makes us feel happy that, actually, someone at Sky does know what is happening!
I would suggest, however, that you perhaps had a system on the Sky boxes where you could push info-messages to people. I would imagine there are loads of people out there who don't know how to get this type of information from the internet, and many more who couldn't get through on the telephone lines (or didn't notice until waaaay too late). If Sky knew about this not long after it happened, yet didn't have time to prevent various failed recordings or weren't able to put right the various future "failed" recordings, then they should have a way of communicating that with all their customers.
I apologise if you do already, but then my point would be ... where is it?!Last edited by Stumpy; 12-06-08 at 11:04 AM.
