      TV Link Issues

Had Sky + Put in today and having problems with the magic eye working.

I have an aerial port on the wall where the sky box is i use this to plug in the RF2 cable to a coupler then through to an extension onto the second tv and the tv link and it works fine.

However i wish to use the terristrial aerial on the second tv incase 2 different shows want to be watched i bought a 3 way splitter with 2 females and a male. Connected them all and picked up an analogue signal fine but the sky signal is grainy and the tv link does not work. Once i remove the aerial cable all goes back to normal but obvioulsy without analogue tv. Am i shorting out the TV Link?

What is the best resolution for this

      Look foward to your replies

      Re: TV Link Issues

      Bruce,

It isn't clear to me exactly what your setup is or what you want to achieve but if I have understood sufficiently, all you need to do is to plug the terrestrial ariel into the "RF in" port on the back of the sky box. Then the RF2 out signal will contain both the terrestrial signal and the signal from the sky box overlaid on top of each other.

In this way you should not need to use another splitter in the second room, the feed from the sky box is all you need to get both Sky and terrestrial channels. This should allow the magic eye to work. What you are doing with your existing setup is grounding out the +9v signal which is supplied to the magic eye from the sky box which is why it doesn't work.
