Should they be as good as each other?
i just got a new tv, with digi, and u can see quite a diff between digi and sky.
have an old 10yr panasonic sky system..
with the old crt tv u could also see a diff but now its more obvious cos the digi tv so much better than the analouge tv!!
the picture on the digi is much sharper and not as blurry.
all scart connected.
any ideas?

is the sky box set to output RGB and have you got a fiullywired scart cable with all 21 pins connected to take the rgb signal.

Try connecting the new TV to the other SCART output on the Digibox (ie the VCR). See if that's different.
Of course a very old box could be the problem. Or the very old installation, specifically the LNB and Coax down from the dish to the Digibox.
Maybe your system is just feeling old.
I have a Samsung LCD TV with in-built Freeview and also Sky+ . The Sky picture is probably better than Freeview but both are very good.

chatting up sky
You could try the old my receiver is broken scenario and say it don't justify the cost of replacing it and see if they do you a deal.~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~

I've noticed this also with Freeview vs Sky. it would seem Sky is more prone to pixelation due to the bit-rates they transmit various channels at. The more channels per satellite transponder the lower the bit-rate used hence the pixelation thats visible which shows more on large screens.

There's a common fault with Panasonic Digiboxes that causes "pixelation" if RGB is selected. Select "PAL" in the "Picture" menu and see if that cures the fault. If it does then either get your Digibox replaced or repaired. This guy is good:-
