Parental control protecting 18 cert when not enabled!
Hi guys,
Having a really annoying problem here with my Sky+ box. I have no pin protection enabled as far as I can tell, but 18 cert programes keep requesting the PIN, even in the evening!
Why???
Any ideas as it's driving me crazy
Thanks
Paul

So there's no way to disable it?

Re: Parental control protecting 18 cert when not enabled!
Ratings Classification:
Sky U, can be shown at any time.
Universal, suitable for all audiences, including young children.
Sky PG, can be shown at any time.
Parental Guidance is recommended. This classification suggests some discretion may need to be applied as to the suitability of the film, where young or impressionable children are viewing.
Sky 12, may not start before 8pm.
Suitable for viewers aged 12 years and over. More mature themes or language make this unsuitable for viewing by young children.
Sky 15, may not start before 8pm.
Suitable for viewers aged 15 years and over. This classification will be awarded to a film which may contain stronger language, violence or themes.
Sky 18, may not start before 10pm.
Suitable only for adult viewers aged 18 and over

Re: Parental control protecting 18 cert when not enabled!
Hi, no pin protection can't now be disabled.
Reason being it is now regulated by ofcom, who has decided Sky must have protection in place to prevent minors viewing unsuitable material.
U, PG, 12, 15 Certificates can be viewed from midday, but only with a pin. After 9pm no pin is required for the above certificate ratings.
18 Certificates are only shown after 9pm, and always require a pin.

Re: Parental control protecting 18 cert when not enabled!
Yes, it does.
Can I please check with anyone who knows _for sure_; is the above still the case? No way to stop being constantly pestered for a PIN number on non-PPV 'adult' programmes even if I have no restrictions set up under Parental Control?
No way around it? Different at all on digiboxes or Sky+ boxes?
Thanks for any informed knowledge.

Re: Parental control protecting 18 cert when not enabled!
I must admit, this drives me feckin berserk as well. It really does do my head in big-time. I had to change my pin to four of the same numbers to make it slightly easier, but ffs, that button is gonna wear-out!
Sky, what planet are you on - not everyone has kids!!!!! How can a minor stumble across something if there aren't any minors in the house?? There should be a way to disable it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Last edited by cassius_west; 20-12-08 at 01:51 PM.
