Problems with a few channels and also during rain

I have a normal Sky box and for some reason certain channels such as ParaComedy+1 never work. Also, everytime it rains, I get the message 'Satellite signal not received' on almost all the channels. I have called Sky about it and they sent someone round, who apparently replaced something on the dish, but he was in such a hurry he didn't give me any idea about what he did. However, the problem remained afterwards...

Sounds like a dish alignment problem. If the "engineer" replaced something then that would be the LNB. A faulty LNB can cause this problem but misalignment is more likely.

You could fix this yourself but as you've had a visit which didn't fix it you're within your rights to get them out again FOC.

Could be,but it could also be water ingress in the cable,if it is'nt sealed properly it can short out. Unscrew the F from the back of the box & look at it.If it looks rusty or gungy then the cabling needs replacing. And dont get fobbed off by a engineer who reseals the F on the LNB,The cable is buggered!
