      multi room

Hi, at the moment we have sky+ in our living room, but it has no telephone cable connected to it. We have never had a problem with this not being connected. We now want to add it to our bedroom, but have been told that we will need to have it connected to the telephone.
Is this the same as when you have it first installed IE you have it connected for installation and then you can disconnect.
      Many thanks.

      Re: multi room

Sky insisit that all multi room subscriptions are connected to the phone line. If you disconnect after Sky will know and send you a letter stating that they will charge you a full subscription for that box if you dont reconnect

      Re: multi room

Hi Postman Pat. So it is different to when you only have one box installed. they told me then that I needed a phone line connected and once it was installed I took it out, never heard anything from them.
What purpose does this connection used for.
      Cheers.

      Re: multi room

Having the box connected enables sky to check that it is being used corectly ie not by anyone else.

      Re: multi room

You are required within your 12 month contractual period to keep your first STB connected to a phone line after the 12 months are up you can quite happily disconnect it. If you have a multi-room subscription Sky require you to have all STB connected to the same phone line at all times. This is to stop people simply paying the 10 pm and giving the Viewing Card to friends and family etc.
