Hi All, please help i am a woman on the edge of the menopause!! my sky box is stuck in standby mode, I have tried unplugging it ect but still nothing. Any other suggestions. I am not very technical Thanks

only thing you can do i think is to leave it off (unplugged) for a couple of hours and see if it comes back to life
(maybe even overnight)

Try holding in the backup button on the front of the box whilst plugging the mains plug in and continue to hold it for 20 - 30 seconds after plugging in to see if an "Updating software" message comes up on the screen, if it doe's let go of the button and then wait. If the meassge dosen't come up your box may have died I'm afraid.

try this ,,if its the old black sky case !! hold a hairdrier over the vent ,,near the power source,,and warm the area up..for about 2mins ,,and try to reboot the box , worked for me

This is a sure sign that the power supply capacitors need to be replaced. Kits available for most models.

mdg123. Hi i tried it but didnt work:-( never mind I bought one off ebay for a fiver and it works great. thanks for the help.
