Power not coming on

Newbie question here. Someone in my house turned the power off on the sky box over night and the dam thing is not coming on now. Anone got any ideas? I think I had a problem like this before where the thing wouldn't come on. Apparently it has not been able to receive updates over night or something and you need to press a combination of buttons? Anyone know what it is?

Is there any life at all? i.e. red standby light or any noise when you apply power, if not its likely the power supply has gone pop you may need a repair man. If it is stuck in standyby you could trying forcing an update which I think involves holding in the backup button on the front of the box whilst turning the power on and continuing to hold it in for about 30 seconds after until an updating message comes up on the screen.

i know it sounds daft , but i used to get that on the skybox ,,,and tell u wat ,,try hold a hairdrier over the vents and warm it up , near the power inlet and it might work , it did for me ...let me know
