Is anyone else getting BBC News 24 and BBC Parliament?

I get the following msg:

No Satellite Signal Being Received but all other channels are fine confused:

It was working fine a few days ago (Thursday I think).

I have a Pace 4.030 Sky+ Box with EPG software 5.03g .
I've checked all the cables attached to the box, they are OK, took the viewing card out, the plug out the wall and forced a software update and still got the same problem.

I've had the box for over two years so I dont have any warranty.

BBC News 24 and Parliament are transmitted from Astra 2A on 11.954 H 27,500 FEC 2/3 whereas the rest of BBC/ITV are broadcast from Astra 2D at lower frequencies. This suggests it may be an LNB problem as the LNB probably switches between high and low frequency bands with a 22KHz tone. I'm sure others can confirm this.

Can you receive QVC on 12032 H? If you can then the LNB is working OK. If you can't then it looks like the LNB.

Yes, I can receive QVC on 12032 H, so I doubt it's the LNB.

Could the strong winds and heavy rain force the dish out of alignment?

Oh, I aslo cant get the BBC radio stations as well.

All BBC Radio except 5Live broadcasts from the same transponder as BBC News24. Can you receive Radio 5Live?

It could of course be a number of other problems - people report disappearing transponders if their PSU is failing, for example.

I assume you are accessing through the EPG. Have you tried manually tuning through the 'Add Channels' facility?

Thanks for the replys.. I've got BBC News 24 back, but only just! It still brakes up and sound drops. Im guessing my dish might be out of alignment.

this is very interesting because i've been having problems with BBC news 24 too. it's only been last 3 or 4 days and no other channels seem to be affected (none of my usual channels i view anyhow). it's ok most of the time but every few minutes i get sound drops and some pixelation.

just checked parliament (don't usually watch that LOL!) and radio 1 and they're occasionally breaking up also. radio 5 live seemed ok for the few minutes i had it on.

this is very interesting because i've been having problems with BBC news 24 too. it's only been last 3 or 4 days and no other channels seem to be affected (none of my usual channels i view anyhow). it's ok most of the time but every few minutes i get sound drops and some pixelation.

just checked parliament (don't usually watch that LOL!) and radio 1 and they're occasionally breaking up also. radio 5 live seemed ok for the few minutes i had it on.

Radio 5 often covers sporting events which the BBC only have entitlements to cover in the UK. Hence Radio 5's are broadcast on one of the Astra 2D transponders which is tightly focused on the UK.

BBC News 24 moved approximately two weeks ago to the Astra 2A transponder its now on.

Alot of people on Digitalspy are using none Sky boxes which means they don't follow any channel moves automatically. When News 24 moved a lot of people lost it until they told their boxes to regather the tuning information.
