Picture and sound problems!
Hi, I have a Sky HD box (Thomson) and have problems with sound and picture on certain channels. ALL HD channels are fine. Major problems with all Sky Movie channels (except HD) and also Sky 1,2 and 3 and channel 5. Sky sports 1 seems to be ok I think but 2 is not.
The picture is pixelated and sound jumps and clicks, to the point where it is un-watchable. Some days it's better than others. It doesnt affect ANY HD channels or BBC1 2 or ITV or Channel 4.
I've tried reseting LNB power supply and checked signal strengths etc, which are fine. Tried re-alligning dish, tightening connections. Nothing seems to work. Would a complete reset (Hard disk reset) be worth trying? Strange only SOME channels are effected which makes me think its not a signal problem.
I'm out of ideas, please help, thanks.Last edited by SaintHarris; 30-01-08 at 11:46 PM.

Re: Picture and sound problems!
WELL! Thanks for all your lovely bits of help! Sorted it, free visit from Sky engineer, and a new free Sky HD box.
Hope this helps someone else with same fault.

Re: Picture and sound problems!
How did you manage to get a free visit? When I called they said they would have to charge me £65 for an engineer to come and visit.
I am shocked at how bad sky are, I pay almost £50 a month for all sports and movies and I can't see half the movie channels and a lot of the free channels.
What a crap service. Sky are USELESS!

If your out of warranty what do you expect?
You could try ringing them ans asking to cancel as your receiver is faulty and you cannot afford the engineers visit but if that doesn't work I think the £65 to cover whatever is required including a replacement receiver is good value.
