Replacement remote from Maplin - setup assistance required please...

Hello,

I bought a replacement remote for my sky digibox. it is an SLx RC027 from Maplin.

It worked great on my tv, which is an old JVC one, until i removed the batteries for around 5 minutes. when i replaced them, the remote will no longer control my TV.

I have lost the guide for the remote and now cannot find out how to set the remote up again. i searched this site and googled it but to no avail...

Does anyone have the same remote (or rather the guide for setup) and would you be able to help me?

the TV is a JVC AV25SD4EK, however i seem to remember having to use a generic JVC code as the TV wasnt listed...

the trouble is its not an official remote, its a cheap replacement...

i cant even work out how to get to the code input stage...

It's not the same sequence as the original is it? With TV switched on press tv then hold down Select and Red together for about two seconds until red light blinks, then press tv again?

JVC code is 0053 Full instructions in post above.

no i tried that already.

Maplin have directed me to Philex, the manufacturers of the remote.
I have e-mailed them and hopefully they will give me some help. I'll post my results...

Hi there, to cycle through all the possible codes:

Press "TV"

Press Power and mute until blue led comes on

Press "TV"

Point remote at TV, press Power for about 6-10 seconds until blue led and "TV" start flashing. This will cycle through the available codes. As soon as the TV turns off, immediately press "TV", remote should now be set.
