Yes it does mean they can do what they want after 12 months but so can any company.
The thing is you are not tied in so you can do what you want if you don't like it - well within the law that is!------
Advice given is in good faith and if taken is done so at your own risk. If in doubt consult a qualified person.

Don't forget that Sky's wording and layout of their letters is not the best. That increase doesn't sound right to me either.
I still haven't received my letter about this increase only the standard we are upgrading the broadband network and the VAT increase in January.

Clear as mud. It seems you are being charged £17 for non-TV services, which does not seem to compute with any of their services. I think you should use a KANA form to ask them for a full breakdown of what you are being charged for.

Re: Sky Sub Price Rise?
Can you not log into My Sky and take a look at your last bill and post a breakdown of it on here as something doesn't seem right there.
Thanks for posting your letter by the way, my letter hasn't got the section with the "Changes to your subscription payments", so I guess no increase for me.

Re: Sky Sub Price Rise?
I was beginning to think that was the case. Phone them up and tell them unless you continue to receive the discount or are transferred to Mid/Everyday immediately, you are cancelling. Your exchange is enabled by Sky, so there may be a space for you on the LLU service. It seems that sometimes if you don't chase them up you will not be transferred over. The Connect service, which is a rebadged BT product, is second class at best, compared to LLU where Sky's own equipment is used. Many suffer from severe throttling which can make it unusable. There are several threads on the forum concerning this.
