A few questions regarding cancelling TV package.

      Hi there,

I currently have SKY HD+ package and unlimited broadband, I'm planning on cancelling my tv service but keep the broadband (as I've heard that they now do standalone internet packages). Few questions:

What will I be able to get out of my HD+box? Do I lose any of its functions once the service is cancelled?

At the moment I pay BT for my line rental, will I have any kind of discount if I hand it over to sky in addition to the broadband?

Will the new fiber service also be available as standalone? If so, how much will it cost?

      Thanks guys!

The Sky+ HD STB is yours to keep. If you no longer subscribe to Sky it will continue to be able to allow you to view Free-to-Air channels, but unless to pay 15 per month, you will not be able to record anything.

If it is important for you to be able to record the Satellite content, then you should consider getting a Freesat+ or Freesat HD+ STB.

As for the broadband, you should currently be getting a 2.50 discount for having Sky TV. This will be lost when you cancel the TV packages (I think it is shown as an addition when you don't have Sky TV). If you have Sky Talk, you would get a 5 per month discount.

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

As long as you pay by direct debit and don't get paper billing then you will only pay 10/month for the Sky+ functions.
