Questions about cancellation - advice needed

      Hi all,

Just wondering if you can offer some advice... Circumstances mean that I will be leaving my flat in about a month's time and will be moving in with a friend who already has Sky so I can't move my Sky subscription across to the new address. I'm assuming the cancellation process is generally a smooth one - I've been with Sky for 6 or 7 years, so wasn't in a 12-month contract... Until now: A few months ago, I moved my line rental from BT to Sky, which created a new 12-month contract. But is this a 12-month contract solely for the line-rental, or for my entire Sky subscription of TV, phone and broadband?

I'm just wondering if anyone knew roughly what the outcome would be if I rang to cancel - I'm assuming a cancellation fee or being charged the remainder of the 12-month contract. Hopefully that will be only for the phone line rental?

In all honesty, what I'd prefer is to sort of put my Sky account on 'hold' for 4-6 months until I'm back on my feet and can move out into my own place again, but in this recession, I can't guarantee when I'll be 'back on my feet'.

      Any suggestions?

That contract will be for the phone only and not affect anything else. You would just have to pay the remaining contract cost for the rental.
