Setting up sky+ in a new flat
Heya, I have just moved into a new flat and have been told by the letting agent that there is a communal dish. However there the ariel faceplate is not suitable for sky. I have been back and forth between letting agent, factor, developer and building owner and no one is talking responsibility for helping us set this up!
Can someone please help me to find out if there is a communal dish at my flat and if so how to change the ariel faceplate?! Alan

Re: Setting up sky+ in a new flat
What type of faceplate is fitted? Are you sure it's not a communal terrestrial antenna for Freeview rather than a satellite system?

It would normally be obvious if it was Satellite ready, have you had a look around for a larger than normal dish?

Re: Setting up sky+ in a new flat
It may be a rental IF system. Knock on a few doors and see what everyone else is doing/paying. There may be a note/flyer on the notice board in the communal entrance, if not, put one there asking what others do to find out!
