Did you press the silver WPS button on the Sagem 2504N router first? You should press the button for around 5 seconds. Once this is done the Wireless indicator LED should start flashing on your router. You can now press the WPS button on the printer.

You can see the WPS button in the silver grill on the left of this picture

Log onto the router and take a look to see if the printer has actually connected. You should be able to see it listed in the 'Connected devices' list.

To do this, type your router's IP address in your browser. Unless you've changed it, it should be 192.168.0.1

Next click on the 'Maintenance tab'. You'll now be asked to enter the username and password details. The defaults are 'admin' for the username and 'sky' for the password. Note that both are in lowercase only. Click Ok to continue.

Finally click on the option which read 'Connected Devices' and read through to see what is connected. Hopefully the printer is connected it is named correctly. Otherwise you'll need to check which each of the 'Unknown' devices are.

Once all this has been completed I would suggest that you to set up a fixed IP Address for the printer. You can do this by logging onto the printer or by logging onto the router. The router would IMHO be the better choice, provided that the printer can connect to it.

Follow the instructions in the guide linked below and use an IP Address somewhere in the range of 192.168.0.150-192 to 168.0.160 so that the printer is out of the range of anything else.

Re: Canon Printer - cannot connect via Sky router

I had this with a customer through the week who had received a printer for Christmas. They kept getting a message when trying to connect that the issue may be due to the router using MAC filtering. Exactly as Scubbie has suggested the way we fixed it was by logging into the router and manually adding an IP and the printers MAC to the address reservation table. We assigned an IP of 192.168.0.90 and it worked first time.

It may be on the serial number label.

To find MAC address on canon printer , go through menu on printer to lan or wifi settings and then use the print option, it will print the MAC address out with all the lan and wifi settings
