March 2015 T&C for fibre non router

Just speaking with someone, who was told by an engineer installing sky fibre that you must only use a sky supplied router/equipment.
Its in the March 2015 T&Cs
      http://www.sky.com/shop/__PDF/Sky_Br..._289820A02.pdf

(j)If you wish to use a modem or any other equipment that we have not supplied to you in order to
access Sky Broadband we cannot guarantee that ADSL Sky Broadband will work with these. You
must not use a modem or any other equipment that we have not supplied to you in order to
      access Sky Fibre Broadband
I am not on fibre, but he knew I often posted on here and wanted to pass on or find out.
I know sky do not provide support for non routers on ADSL (and as above), but had not heard that on fibre they were explicitly banned.
Is this already known or is it a new T&C addition?

It's been worded like that for a while now, I'm sure the t+c's were reworded when Sky took on the O2 customers.

In section 2, paragraph j it sadly still makes it clear that Sky don't like you using your own routers on Fibre.

Personally I think that this is really stupid. BT Retail Customers are allowed to use their own routers, why not Sky?

      PlusNet Fibre since Jan 2021
Previously Sky Fibre & Sky BB since 2010.
