      Desperately Need Some Help/Advice

      Hi all
I am trying desperately to get a 3rd party ADSL Router working, but have failed utterly so far
I have a Sagem F@ST 2304n at the moment, but it's giving me quite a bit of uphill these day's, so I purchased an Asus DSL-N55U to replace it
I have managed to get/extract my usrname & passord from the Sagem, but try as I may, it will not stay connected to the internet on the Asus
I have tried various methods from several forums (including and most importantly this one), but it just lands up falling over every time
I have managed to get it to connect, but the connection keeps resetting and eventually just does nothing (even though it say's it's connected)

Is there an ADSL Router that anyone can recommend, that actually works well with sky ADSL?
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated

Sigh .... was hoping someone would have been able to advise

From what I've read up, I've narrowed it down to 2 ADSL Routers, namely the Netgear DGND3700 Wireless ADSL Router or the TP-Link TD-W8980 N600 Dual Band Wireless ADSL Modem Router.
Anyone have any thoughts on those 2 at all?

I am a bit out of touch with this stuff now its been a few years since I had problems, but don't be too quick to blame the
router, a lot of disconnecting issues can be down to poor line condition especially if your original router is suffering similar
      problems.

Looking at the reviews for this particular Asus, show it has a bad reputation for dropping the connection, especially on lines which are a bit suspect. It seems it is either liked or loathed.

Of the 2 you mention the TP Link, gets the best reviews and is cheapest. You might want to consider this - http://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-LINK-D2-W.../dp/B00OA4YJFY It is in the same price range, is wireless AC which is much faster with compatible adapters.

Thank you for the reply Isitme, it's very much appreciated
I was actually just out when you left it, and did indeed purchase the Netgear DGND3700 Wireless ADSL Router this afternoon.
I seem to remember reading somewhere on the forum that Scubbie has used this particular model Netgear, and it performed rather well .... so I took the plunge
I unboxed it, plugged it all in, it then proceeded to open the Netgear Genie Setup wizard .... I entered the Username & Password I had extracted from the Sagem F@st 2304n, and it did everything else all by itself
I have now been connected for over 2 Hrs with no issues whatsoever ... everything just works
This modem/router is just great, and I would recommend it to anyone wanting a hasslefree move away from the Sky ADSL router
