      Sky ADSL with Belkin Router

      Hi all.

I've been using a Belkin router with Sky for the last couple of years. I got it working by extracting the log-in details from the one which was provided by Sky years ago (White Netgear -834GT?). It was working flawlessly until this weekend when all I get is a red light to show there is no internet connection.

I dug out and reconnected the Sky router and my connection came back. I just wondered if anyone had any thoughts as to what could be going on. Has Sky changed something their end to prevent non-Sky routers connecting or am I missing something that could be wrong my end?

So far I've tried resetting and re-entering these details:

Username (ending @skydsl) and corresponding password
      Encapsulation:PPPoA
      VPI/VCI: 0/38
      Multiplexing: VC
      MTU: 1500

      Thanks

I don't think Sky have made any changes, especially now as they do not object to anyone using their own router. Either your ADSL was down at the time or your Belkin has developed a fault. Plug it back in and see if it works, if it doesn't, then I'm afraid it has failed.

Thanks for the response. At least we are online, even if it is by using an antique in tech terms!
