Sagemcom f@st 2504n, Dead Ethernet ports and no Wireless N option.

Got hold of a 2504n to use upstairs via homeplugs as an ethernet switch and WiFi extender. Unfortunately the unit appears to have two dead ports the green and blue color coded ports. Nothing happens when I plug cables are into these ports. However the two yellow ports light up numbers 1 and 2 when used. Wireless and ADSL also work.
Just wondering if there is any way I can rectify this? Also there is no option on the web interface setup screen for Wireless N mode? I bought this router as I thought it was Wireless N so I am a little confused. I do have a belkin router I can use in the mean time but would prefer to use sky's router. As it will be in my bedroom and the light on this router won't be in any way distracting. It will also look better sat on top of the sky box.
So if anyone could suggest a potential fix I would appreciate it. Also could you confirm this router is wireless n as I may try to get another if needs be.
Firmware is version 6.14.1a4N_UNI its a v6 router all the ssid etc match the the text on the sticker at the bottom.
I am hoping a firmware update will fix all issues.
      Thanks for you help guys.

      It's definitely wireless N.
They just didn't include 'N' as a selectable option in the network mode list, but if it's on the default 'auto', it will be using 'N'

Current firmware is 7.16a4N_UNI with associated adsl firmware A2pD038m.d24h.
Hopefully the router will update automatically overnight.

Can't really comment on the 2 non functioning LAN ports, but wouldn't normally expect a firmware update to help with this.

Would it still update if connected to my sky hub via Ethernet as was its intended use? Or will I have to leave it connected to ADSL tonight and see if it updates.

It will need to be connected to the internet to receive the update.

Direct to the internet that is, not through another router.

As for the dead ethernet ports, you could try resetting the router to default by pushing in the reset button on the rear for about 10 secs. If that does not work, there is not a lot you can do.

Re: Sagemcom f@st 2504n, Dead Ethernet ports and no Wireless N option.

Thanks for your help. For now I have the 2504 in place of the hub and the hub upstairs. Will try and get another 2504 as its size and shape are perfect and unobtrusive for the bedroom. Other than that the setup works well. I have full wifi signal everywhere in my home and I now can stream media to the bedroom via wired connection. I guess I am half happy. Thanks again for your help. I will let you know if those lan ports come back online.
