      New Settings On Router

I turned off my router and reset it for a day and when I went to log in normally to adjust the settings I noticed something new on the Lan IP Set up, Lan IPv6

Should I disable this? Do I need it and why has it suddenly appeared?

      LAN IPv6 Setup
      Disable IPv6
      Enable DHCPv6 Server
      Stateless
      Stateful
      Start interface ID:
      End interface ID:
      Leased Time(hour):
      Enable ULA PRefix Advertisement
      Randomly Cenerate
      Statically Configure
      Prefix:
      Preferred Life Time (hour):
      Valid Life Time (hour):

      Re: New Settings On Router

Could you confirm which router you have please?

We are aware that the Sagem 2504N, SR101 and SR102 have all had recent firmware updates to support IPv6.

Do not disable the function as some time in the future Sky are going to roll it out. At the present time I have no schedule, but it could be before the end of the year.

It's a Sagemcom, I was worried that my router had been hacked with all those unfamiliar settings.

      I have disabled it.

      Re: New Settings On Router

Which Sagem/Sagemcom router? There are 3 which Sky has produced.

Disabling IPv6 is definitely NOT recommended. At this point I cannot predict the consequences. I suspect that the transition from IPv4 to IPv6 will be a gradual one, but there will come a point when IPv4 will not be usable.
