Have you power cycled the main router? Thats when my problems all started.

How many devices in total would you say you had connected? I have around 50 but Sky struggles with this.

      Re: Sky Router Firmware

Does the SR102 have a custom firmware? I've spent the past hour and a half having a google and searching the forum, and whilst the table says yes, I can't find one.

      Thanks!

There really is no need, I thought I was bad for OCD ^^, I'd have gone back to Merlin as he has really added useful stuff now. You could use someone else's lots of close up pics on ebay. I like to know how you get on with gfast, it never made it to my town but I like all the infos. Didn't you used to have a nice pfSense/OpnSense box anyway?

      Re: Sky Router Firmware

Nope always used an Asus Router
I compile my own custom build of merlin without his branding on it and a few things removed

I have had G.fast for 18 months with talktalk but they are so garbage
its almost as bad as virgin for jitter and spikes
and sunday evening forget about it jitter city

Though if you dont game its fine for downloading
ping was 13-14ms on talktalk not counting jitter
was 6ms the first week before they decided to route my traffic through north wales for some reason and i could never
get it resolved i spent 3 months complaining to the CEO Department at TalkTalk
They tried saying to was down to openreach and such
even after i pointed out i could ping the dslam in 1ms and talktalk's local dns server in 2ms
and showed them a visual route of the draffic going off into north wales instead of going direct to london
in the end i gave up and waited out the 18months
      its 7-8ms on sky

its the same as VDSL2 but faster tbh

      Interestingly

      May 2019 Max Rate was 399.06 M Downstream 62.06 M Upstream

      October 2020 Max Rate was 440.70 M Downstream 65.80 M Upstream

so some spectrum has been added somewhere as i refuse to believe
people coming online on G.fast wouldnt lower my Max Rate (was first on my cab)

The Openreach engineer tried removing my Openreach G.fast modem saying it wasnt needed
and that i had to connect up directly with the sky router for it to work

I was like umm nope dont touch my stuff and the sky router isnt going in there either

It got to me so i sniffed the SR204 it was 3.04.1472.R but updated to 5.11.1993.R

      ************@skydsl|********
      5.11.1993.R|002|SR204|**************

The SR204 reports via Ewan pulled via the OpenReach Modem
      DownStream Connection Speed 159689
      UpStream Connection Speed 29969

Not really sure what the difference between SR203 & SR204 is
but at a guess i would say the SR204 is configured to show an orange light if VOIP isnt plugged into the back of the router and the SR203 isnt
or SR203 comes with VOIP disabled and SR204 with VOIP enabled

      Re: Sky Router Firmware

@maurissio updates for the SR101 are pushed out by Sky, there’s no facility to download an update from their website and upload it to the SR101 yourself. The only other alternative might be to flash it with some other firmware? I seem to recall from the dim & distant past that somebody produced a custom firmware for it (but I never bothered to try it myself)
