      Re: Sky Router Firmware

Not sure if this is relevant to this thread but I installed a Sky Q Booster today (EE120) and it immediately updated to Firmware version 2.03.2069.R (which is close to my Sky Q Hub - 2.03.2068.R - that I got a couple of nights ago). This version added Powerline control to the Booster which was absent in the originally installed version.

      Re: Sky Router Firmware

Thanks everyone. I've updated the table.

Interesting observation there too CPN. Currently the official line is that the PowerLine functionality isn't supported by Sky. There are some known issues which they are attempting to iron out first. However there's nothing stopping you from trying it out if you like. Of course if you have some issues, simply disable it.

Thank you Alex20. That one has been rolling out since 8th May. It sounds like Sky staggered the update.

Any idea on what's new in this release? Public release notes seem to be a thing of the past these days.

      No.

Sky doesn't release details regarding the firmware updates for their routers. You take it or leave.

Personally I find it annoying and unhelpful.

Certain information does become obvious with some updates, such as support for IPv6 and PowerLine Adaptor.

      Re: Sky Router Firmware

Sky probably feel that their customer base isn't "technical enough" to be interested, and for the most part, that's probably true. But there are of course many who are of a technical disposition and would like to know, and it would certainly be useful for those people. It might not make any difference to my life, but I would love to know what changes. Engaging customers keeps them on board.

They are not going to tell you what spying software is included!!

Yes I am trying to prod a response. If the only way is to accuse them of including something so they deny it, then so be it!

Don't worry, I'm sure GCHQ has been checking over your computers and don't worry about that keyboard and mouse tracker software, that'll be Homeland Security.

      Re: Sky Router Firmware

I'm not worried at all about the security forces.
I am not daft enough to invite any form of voice recognition in ANY devices, and all cameras are taped over.
Also my router's firewall only allows specific devices access - which does annoy my kids when they visit.
