    Sky Router Firmware

This is a discussion on Sky Router Firmware within the Sky Router forums, part of the Sky Broadband help category; I suspect that new firmware rollout is correlated with the exchanges/areas that have had their equipment upgraded....

      Re: Sky Router Firmware

Sky now appear to have put their IPv6 servers on line as I now get a 10/10 on the IPv6 Test. This was previously 9/10 as there were no Sky DNS servers. If your line has been enabled you can do the Test here - Test your IPv6.

I am not sure whether IPv6 is enabled on an exchange or individual line basis. I know my line was enabled before it was generally available on my exchange, but that was for a beta test.

      Re: Sky Router Firmware

I've had the 2.88.1086.R, A2pv6F039m.d24 on my sr102 firmware since 22nd July, as reported here, its not new.
Dynamic dns was improved adding dyndns, syns.cx and noip.com and its also adds IPv6 to the broadband/lan ports.

iPV6 is not available fully yet and will only be for testing and beta testers. Think its some time off yet.
Its done by line not exchange.

This simply means your line has not yet been enabled for IPv6.

Hopefully it will have cured your disconnects.

      Re: Sky Router Firmware

      Update :

(SR102) Last monday night (7th Sept.) I got the new firmware - since then the new firmware has caused between 4-5 drop outs daily, mostly at night (5pm-12pm).

Sky can see i had 1 -2 errors every 15 mins with the old router firmware - the new firmware is causing almost 200 every 15 mins.

Sky have sent me a new router today with the old firmware version so they can see if the errors are back to normal and that the sync holds.

The new router has synced higher and stayed solid for the last 6 hours. I have fibre suport calling me at 7.30 to check the line and monitor it over the next few nights. If it doesnt drop at all it will prove its the newest firmware - if not engineer for my line!

      - - - Updated - - -

      Manufacturer Sky
      Model SR102
      Firmware Version 2.1r.3761.R
      DSL Firmware VersionA2pv6F038m.d24j

since receiving the new router with the old firmware on from SKY, my line has now been solid for 2 days, rather than disconnect 4-5 times a day.

Now we see what happens when it gets pushed out the new firmware and if the weird disconnects return.

You may be OK. Your old router may have had a fault.

      ....nope.... fail.

router has stayed up and solid since monday at 2pm.

New firmware last night at 12am, has rebooted 5 times since the firmware update.....

I told sky this morning who are passing it onto the firmware team?? Apparently loads of issues with the connect customers but apparently im the first fibre customer with an issue?
