Sky Hub SR102 in modem mode

      Hi,
Few days ago I moved from virgin (120) to sky fibre unlimited. I have Sky Hub SR102. as sky hub is slow in network connecion I prefer to use hub as modem (was vey easy in virgin, jus one click) and build home network with tplink tl-sg108 switch and wriles AP conected to one of switch port. I can't find any option in sky hub to switch to modem mode only.
      Any help?

Re: Sky Hub SR102 in modem mode

Hi lepa and welcome to the forum.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but unfortunately the SR102 does not have this capability.
If I remember correctly Virgin's previous hub did not have a modem only mode when it was first introduces but the facility was added, by popular demand, at a later date as part of a firmware update. The latest Virgin hub had a modem only mode from day one.

I assume that there is no technical reason why Sky couldn't do the same but I haven't heard any news of this, not even on the rumour mill.

I'm intrigued by your current setup. Does everything connected to your switch have a static IP address or do you use dnsmasq or another dhcp server on one of the connected devices to allocate IP addresses?

Connect your tplink in the sr102 DMZ using the guide here

It's for a DIR 613 but the general principles will be the same.

Re: Sky Hub SR102 in modem mode

      For information:
      1) This works with tha latest sr102 (arr jan 2016).
      2) The DMZ info is NOT shown, it always says 0.0.0.0 but new settings ARE effective.
      3) MTU1500, DSL also set as required.
      4) Connect to the DIR-615 through the 'internet' socket (presumably this does NAT & firewall etc).

My DIR-615 has a slightly different interface but its all pretty obvious.
