      Gigabit Ethernet and Wireless 802.11ac

Hi... I'm a SKY Broadband Unlimited user and I'd like Gigabit LAN and high speed wifi. Obviously the Sky Hub doesn't do that so wondering what my options are. After trawling through some forums I understand its not possible just to buy a new router and connect it up as Sky don't release the username and password of the modem. If I manage to obtain this through wireshark (I think!) then can I just buy any router and configure it or are there still some special considerations (e.g. would a Sky broadband unlimited router be different to the Sky Fibre - don't have Fibre yet as its not available in my area but that could change)? Another possibility would be to connect the new router to SKy Hub and use it as an access point and gigabit switch.... would that work or do I need a different piece of hardware to achieve that?

Any router would do, as long as it has a built in ADSL modem. You could buy a cable router and connect it through the Sky hub, but a direct connection would be better. A simple gigabit switch would give you a high speed LAN, a lot cheaper than a router but it does not help the WiFi.
