      Question SKY SR 101 Setup

      Hello (and happy new year)
      Two days ago I got a SR 101 (white hub) connected power, Cat 5 and phone line but the front LED smiley face for Internet stays amber (not connected) do I need any software to make the connection ?, any help/advice appreciated

      SKY SR 101 Setup

      Try rebooting the router or holding the reset button for 15 seconds. If that fails call sky as it may be restricted unintentionally and they will be able to unrestrict it.

      Thank you Hedgehog1979 I will try that, as I bought the router off ebay ... (just reading it may have been locked out of Sky's database for something like non payment of account by the previous router owner, its supposed to be new.

      Unfortunately my SR 101 wont connect to the Internet, I rang SKY but was told as I did not buy the router from SKY they cant help so I had to buy one from SKY 39, so much for trying to save a few quid, router from SKY will be with me in 3 to 5 days, thank you for your help.

      It may be black listed but if not it can take a considerable time to connect when first used. Have you tried leaving it plugged in and switched on overnight to see if it will connect?

      I'm afraid you've been misinformed. Tech support can and should re-activate second hand routers. There is no reason for them not to as Sky now use a different means for suspending broadband service, and it is easy to check which customer is using a router. I'd call back and ask for a refund.

      SKY SR 101 Setup

      As stated above the router can be unblocked as long as the account that is trying to use it does not have any debt that's restricting the services or has not been blocked for usage issues.

      seawright, Hedgehog1979 and buddbuttocks thank you I will have to contact SKY again and I will leave the router connected overnight (using my old Sagem F@ST 2504 ATM)

      Also, if you definitely have the Sagem 2504 (not N), you would have been eligible for the free Hub offer through sky.com/booster, although since you will now have a new Hub on your account, you'll be given the booster if you were to claim the offer now.
