Exclamation How can I use my old Sky router as a wireless access point from an Ethernet port?

i have an old Sagem black router from Sky I would like to use this in my university room to make it wireless.

I tried putting the ethernet cable into the back of it using the one mentioned in the 192.168.0.1 page and changed the router mode to WANOE but nothing seems to work. Is there anything else I need to do?

You should connect it up using the guide in this thread:

If you have the Sagem 2504N you may find it difficult to set up. This is because other members have found that it needs to be connected to the Internet when you are configuring it in order for the router to retain any custom settings.

You will need to find out the IP address your room is being allocated. You can do this by connecting a laptop/PC by ethernet open a Command Prompt and type ipconfig /all Use the address given to your PC on the router, it may be completely different from the Sagem default address. Whether it works will depend on how the University network is set up.
