No ISP would provide a surge protector for yor mains socket. Many are available in the shops for reasonable prices as they are often intergrated into a 4-Way bar.

This isn't the cheapest on the market, but serves to demonstrate what we are referring to:

      http://www.amazon.co.uk/Masterplug-S...rge+protection

You can get them for under 5.

Do remember that HomePlugs should not be plugged onto a surge protected socket. The circuitry in the protected socket can mess up the signal.

      Thought I'd give an update:

      Router Statistics
      System Up Time: 264:32:08
Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collision Pkts Tx b/s Rx b/s Up Time
      WAN PPPoA 955530616 814280427 0 1561 2217 264:30:43
      LAN Up 5230798 3024518 0 1072 8508 264:32:08
      WLAN Up 29229238 20185340 12 0 164729 208:06:09
      Broadband Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 11256 kbps 1023 kbps
Line Attenuation 40.5 dB 24.3 dB
Noise Margin 5.8 dB 11.11 dB

Since I've had my router plugged directly into the wall and not the homeplug, it looks like the problem has resolved. WAN uptime looking good. This will probably explain why my previous router was re-booting.

Just curious though, the WLAN collision Pkts always used to be 0 on my old router. Not sure what this figure is. Is it to do with wireless devices conflicting? Many thanks.

      Re: Sky hub rebooting??

This could be caused by a variety of different issues.

It might be something as simple as having a busy WiFi, including a neighbouring router or perhaps a poor signal at some stage.

I wouldn't be worried at this stage with just 12 collisions over a 264 hours period.
