How can i change my ip?

Hello, i was wondering how can i change my ip? I have DHCP enabled, i read up on it and if I'm correct that's how you differentiate between, static ip and Dynamic. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: How can i change my ip?

      Welcome to the forum davedsuit.

There are two IP Addresses which I think that you are referring to there.

Firstly when we refer to the Dynamic IP Address we normally mean the 'WAN' or external IP Address that would be seen by any sites you visit. Any device connected to your router will share this same IP Address.

This is assigned by Sky's servers. Although it doesn't change often, if the connection were reset by the DLM software or you powered off your router for say an hour, then you would likely get a new address assigned.

There are many ways to find out what yours is. A quick and simple way would be to use Google and type 'what is my ip address'.

The second IP Address is your local network IP Address. This is assigned by your router, but can be set manually if you prefer. The default settings for Sky's router use the IP Address range 192.168.0.xxx. The last number will range from 1 to 254. 1 is used by the router, so the first assigned device will be 192.168.0.2.

If it is this address you wish to change, then please read this article:

      IP Address Reservation

Although for a different model to what you have in your profile, the instructions should be the same.
