      SKY to soon allow users to use their own router

      Hi all, apologies if this has already been covered, I had a quick look and it didn't bite me on the a$$ soo........


      BE Usergroup

      Interesting that they have stated 'in the future' they will allow the use of personal routers.

      Thoughts?

      Can't wait for the change to happen anyone recommend me some top routers to go with when this happens.

      Until we have specific details it would be foolish to recommend a router.

      At the present time you are more than welcome to get a Billion 7800. With the latest firmware it works on Sky's ADSL without any problems. I believe it also now supports Sky's Fibre connections too. The specs of the router are good.

      As we do not know how Sky will implement this, and after the experiences with MER, it would be impossible to confirm any thing more than I did in the previous post.

      If it helps, I did successfully connect a Netgear DGND3700 to an O2 connection.

      hum skys mer is a real problem because only the 7800n supports this feature guess it might have to be that.
