    Router Login Page Change

    This is a discussion on Router Login Page Change within the Sky Router forums, part of the Sky Broadband help category; I tried to login to my router today via 192.168.0.1 and instead of getting the usual login page I get ...

      Router Login Page Change

      I tried to login to my router today via 192.168.0.1 and instead of getting the usual login page I get a differnt page. When I click on any of the settings it ask for a password. The usual admin and sky doesn't work. Has anyone else had the same problem?

      What router do you have? It may have received a firmware update which has upset it. Try pressing the reset button for about 10 seconds. See if you can then get access.

      I discovered the problem. I recently changed to using a homeplug rather than wi-fi and found that I was actaully connected to the neighbours router. They must be on Sky but with a different router, hence the differen login page. Now setup the encryption on the homeplus so it only connects to my router.

      That is a danger users of Homeplugs should be aware of. Although the cut off point is supposed to be the meter, very often the signal will travel through it and into any nearby network on the same phase. It is an even worse security hole than an unsecured wireless network.
