The Hub will only connect at 144Mbps, just like the Sagem.

With the new router, my PS3 iPlayer is now working with no buffering whatsoever, so far. It would buffer every 20 seconds or so with my old Netgear GT router. I'm very impressed - well worth 39.

That's very much what I'm hoping for too.. Tried to watch Dragon's Den last night, gave up 20 minutes into it, constant buffering, ridiculous for a 40meg fibre line..

i think perhaps I didn't word that very clearly. What I meant was that it was actually a good thing that it was connecting at at 144mbps, and therefore odd that it was feeling sluggish in comparison to the 2504n.

Have you tried changing the channel to the same one as your previous router. It may be worth doing this even if it shows the same channel in the Auto selection.

No, haven't tried that. My understanding was that the hub was supposed to automatically switch to a channel with the least amount of interference.

From their own spiel: "Sky Smart Signal - scans for interference in the home and selects the best wireless channel".

Can't hurt to give it a try though.

(Previous hub was also on Auto, I never specifically forced it to a particular channel)

Re: How many ordered the SR101 Hub then?

Originally I did set the channel on mine to a specific one which I know is good. I was not alone doing this.

Later on most of us changed it to automatic and after a while the Sky Hub does find a good channel.

There are some threads in this forum where some members have had specific issues with the other Sky routers. Sadly I can't check out whether the Sky Hub SR101 would be better in those specific cases.

On the whole, the Sky Hub does seem to be very good with the WiFi though.

Re: How many ordered the SR101 Hub then?

Mine has arrived today but has microfilters and a telephone cable instead of the the two LAN cables I was expecting as I am on Fibre in the box. Plugged it in regardless (using the top port as on my Sagem) and it won't connect to the internet.

I thought these hubs were supposed to work with either ADSL or VDSL?

Re: How many ordered the SR101 Hub then?

The firmware is indeed suitable for both connections. Navigate to the page linked below and check that 'Router Mode' is set to 'Auto' or 'WANOE Only'.

It can take up to 1 hour to connect for the first time, but Sky were working to reduce this.

And impatience is where I was going wrong, 50 minutes later it has indeed connected!
