      WiFi Repeater / Extender Help Needed

      Hi All.

      I have a the new 2504n wifi router from Sky and while the wifi range is great it doesnt reach the 3rd floor of my house. I have a spare Neatgear DGN1000 and was wondering if I could use this as a possible wifi repeater / extender. Ive been reading on other forums that it is and isnt possible so I was wondering what you guys on here had to say. Will I need to upgrade the firmware or is it just not possible with this device.

      In order to connect the Netgear router in this way, you would have to limit the WiFi to either use WiFi g standards or disable all encryption if you stick with the Netgear firmware.

      There are some custom firmwares, hopefully someone else can recommend one for you.

      Another option would be to connect the two router either by a long Ethernet cable or via a pair of HomePlugs. Use the guidance in the thread linked below:
