You will have checked your tower to see if you need a PCI or PCIex? Whatever type you get make sure it has a removable aerial. My big fisted son broke his when moving the box, so it was a replacement card instead of a new aerial.

Ok, so not the PCI Express then.

Please do take a look for yourself, but I have found these which should support 144mb/s on a single channel. These all support 300mb/s (paired channels):

      TP-Link TL-WN851N Wireless N PCI Adapter: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

Acetec Wireless N WiFi PCI Adapter Card 300Mbps for: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics

      TP-Link TL-WN951N Advanced Wireless N PCI Adapter: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

If the signal is a little patchy where the desktop is located, you may wish to invest in some directional aerials too:

      TP-Link TL-ANT2405C 2.4GHz 5dbi Indoor Omni-Directional Antenna: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

      TP-Link TL-ANT2408C 2.4GHz 8dbi Indoor Omni-Directional Desktop Antenna: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

Yup will have a look around. My desktop location is pretty good. I get a constant 100% signal, so not too worried there.

How is it you guys know so much technical stuff? I'm a n00b compared to you lol

Myself; college & work some years back & a long-term interest.

Also I have made a few mistakes in the past, so I try to steer people away from them.

Many of the posts on the forum are much the same, with individual twists and many others have suggested useful tips which we recycle as they work.

Must be getting a bit long in the tooth, all PCI slot boards haven't been sold for some years now.
