      Yes.

Where the 6300 supports up to 450mbps on both frequencies, the 6200 supports up to 300mbps instead. It will therefore support up to 144mbps on the single channel that the Sky router works at.

      New Sagem N router

Thanks guys. Might get that for the laptop. I'm assuming it's definitely the right size? I'll also get that PCI card you suggested for my tower.

The card in Tom's link does match the size of the card in the pic of your laptop's card.

      Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6200 - Network adapter - PCI Express Half Mini Card - 802.11b, 802.11a, 802.11g, 802.11n: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

If you scroll down a little you will see another card that is the longer format and won't be any good (4965AGN).

      New Sagem N router

Just chatted with a friend of mine who gave me his N card. He said when he had it, he got 150mbps speed. He had a Superhub Netgear router. So I don't quite understand why I'm only getting 65mbps :-s

      Re: New Sagem N router

Take a look at this thread: http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/techn...on-speeds.html

I would have expected the card to connect at 72mbps based upon that information, but I have seen some adaptors connecting at a slower speed than they should on some routers. This could be down to the chipsets being slightly incompatible with each other.

      Re: New Sagem N router

It might be a bit difficult to understand but if the Sagem was a 300Mb router you would get 150Mb with your existing card, but as it is only half that you will only get half that speed. If the new card you get is a full 300mb, this will give you the full speed of the Sagem. A rough comparison of routers/cards-
      150mb router + 150mb card = 75Mb
      300mb router + 150mb card = 150Mb
      150mb router + 300 mb card = 150Mb
      300mb router + 300mb card = 300mb
(For some reason the Sky router maxes out at 144mb/72Mb not the 150/75 most routers do. The actual speed you get will depend on your local environment)

Scubbie beat me to it this time

Cheers guys, I understand a bit more now.

For my desktop PC, the PCI card Scubbie recommended is it a 300mbps card?

      Re: New Sagem N router

I didn't know which specific card you needed, but I think I did provide links to 300mb versions of a couple of the more popular current interfaces.

      New Sagem N router

I needed a PCI card for my tower. The current one is a G and RaLink PCI
