In this case, check the specifications first, but perhaps the Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300.

      Intel® Centrino® Ultimate-N 6300

Some of their range don't work with the AMD processor, but saying that I have the 6300 in this laptop which has an AMD processor.

It has 3 aerial sockets and works very well in my case.

I haven't had an opportunity to get it working at up to 450mbps, but I have used it regularly on a 300mb router (DGND3700 & WNDR3800). Currently I am using it on the Sky Hub at 144mbps.

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps

My laptop has 3 aerials but the card only has 2 connected.
This is why you are only able to get 'half' speed. What was in the laptop originally? If it has 3 aerial connections you may find it is better than the one you replaced it with, now that you have an 'N' router.

The previous card was a Dell card, which is G and only had 2 aerial sockets.

Are you sure the 3rd aerial is for wifi? It wouldn't be for bluetooth would it? It seems strange putting 3 aerials in for a G card.

I don't know. There isn't any room for a Bluetooth card if you look at the picture.

What is the black square with the mini connector on it to the top of the picture? I don't really know but I would not like to see you splash out on an expensive card if it will not work. I would make enquiries with Dell if I were you.

      New Sagem N router

It's just a black paper square stuck onto the motherboard, labelled WWAN. There is a spare slot by it which is what you're maybe seeing. I'm assuming that's for bluetooth, so you may be right the grey aerial is for Bluetooth. But I should still be able to get a decent N card as Scubbie suggested to get the maximum speed of 144 for the router.
