      Which router is this?

      Greetings.

      This router has a speed of about 45 MB/S and is not the F@st 2504N.

      The manufacturer is Sagem, does anyone know the model number?

      WiFi g (54mbps), 100mb LAN.

      Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
      Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

      Blimey that was quick thanks.

      The guy next door says his wireless is not very good, he has the above router.

      Would it be a good idea to suggest he upgrades to the F@st 2504N, do you think that would give him better coverage?

      I would say yes tbh the 2504n is miles better on wireless for me.

      Although, there is apparently a new one coming out soon, although we don't know how much or if existing customers can actually buy it.

      If he wants to change it now, then he will need to call Sky and ask for the 'WiFi N router' or the Sagem 2504N. Sky will probably charge him 35 + postage unless he can convince them to waive the 35.

      The Sky Hub SR101 (the new router) could be released in a couple of months. We do not know how much Sky will charge for it and if existing customers can purchase it immediately or a month or so later. If is a little better on the WiFi and a few other things though.

      An alternative would be to look into purchasing his own non-Sky router. There are details on this forum about this topic so please do read up about it if he wants to consider this.
